Wawel Hill

The old, limestone Wawel Hill, located over the Vistula river was the center of Polish political and ecclesiastical power for over 500 years.

Wawel is dominated by two immense edifices: the Gothic Royal Cathedral with royal tombs and famous Sigismund Bell Tower and the Castle – former Royal Residence with the arcaded courtyard of rare beauty.

Wawel Hill is one of the most important landmarks of the city and the most recognizable symbol of Poland. Today it's an interesting museum documenting Polish history and the richness of its culture in the Middle Ages and Renaissance era.
During our tour, you will visit the Royal State Rooms on the second floor of the Castle with the splendid collection of Flemish tapestries dating back to the 16. century. Afterwords we will enter one of the most important historical sites in Poland - the Royal Cathedral holding old royal tombs and the Sigismund Bell Tower. This is the place where almost all Polish kings were crowned and burried.
During your visit on the Wawel Hill you cannot miss the Dragon and its Den. This terrible creature is associated with the oldest Krakow’s legend and the city’s founder – Prince Krak.

Usually the tour takes about 3 hours.
